No. You need to make it on the stove and use the fondue pot simply to keep it warm and dip your fruit, etc. in.Can I make chocolate fondue directly in a fondue pot?
I would make it on the stove first and then use the fondue pot to keep it warm. I have an electric fondue pot so I can regulate the temperature and in that sense, it's quite handy for chocolate fondue. I wouldn't. Chocolate melts at body temp, and really doesn't need as much heat as a sterno or elec. fondue pot gives off. I'd just use the fondue pot to serve out of.
