the best way is to put some lemon or lime juice on them when you cut them, and cut them at the last possible moment.

some good things to dip in are: strawberries - leave the stalks on, kiwi fruit - sliced up, grapes, lychees, berries, etc.

some other things which would be nice apart from fruit - shortbread, doughnuts - sliced up, biscuits, brioche, marshmallows, brownies, cookies, biscotti etc.
