Does anyone have a good idea for V-Day dinner?

I want to cook. Something mmm thats an aphrodisiac mabey... I know I want to cook chocolate fondue in my new fondue pot so a good recipe for that would be nice and then something for dinner.Does anyone have a good idea for V-Day dinner?
Choose oysters for appetizer, then a really wonderful pasta recipe with a good wine. Serve the pasta with homemade garlice bread (here is my recipe) and a tossed salad with homemade dressing or my Caesar Coleslaw, which is wonderful. Here are some suggestions:

Fettucini Carbonara

1/2 pound bacon

1/4 cup whipping cream

4 beaten eggs

1 pound fettucini, cooked

1/4 cup butter, melted

1 cup grated parmesan cheese

1/4 cup snipped parsley

Heat oven-proof serving dish in 250 degree

oven. In skillet cook bacon till crisp. Drain; crumble. Heat cream till just warm. Remove from heat; beat in eggs. Toss pasta with butter. Pour egg mixture atop. Toss till well-coated. Add bacon, cheese, and parsley; toss to mix.

Sprinkle with pepper. Serves 6.

And now relax, good luck..

Chicken Scampi

1/2 cup butter

1/4 cup olive oil

1 tsp dried parsley

1 tsp dried basil

1/4 tsp dried oregano

3 cloves garlic, minced

3/4 tsp salt

1 Tbsp lemon juice

4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, sliced lengthwise into thirds

In a skillet heat the butter and olive oil on medium high heat until butter is melted. Add parsley, basil, oregano, garlic and salt and mix together. Stir in lemon juice.

Then add chicken pieces and saute for 3 minutes or until white. Lower the heat and cook for about 10-15 mintues or until chicken is cooked through. More butter can be added if needed. Serve chicken over hot angel hair, or other pasta and pour some of the sauce over it all.

In a large skillet over medium heat, saut茅 chicken in butter or margarine until chicken is tender, about 5 to 7 minutes.

Reduce heat add green onion, heavy cream, tomatoes, basil, salt, garlic powder, black pepper and heat through.

Pour over hot linguine and toss, with Parmesan cheese.

Traditional Shrimp Scampi

Preparation time: 30-35 minutes but if you purchase your shrimp already peeled and de-veined the prep time should be reduced to about 15 minutes. Serves 6-8.

Ingredients:

2 pounds medium-size fresh shrimp (either 16-20 count or smaller ones), peeled and de-veined or unpeeled and un-deveined

1/4 cup chopped green onions

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

4 cloves garlic, crushed

3/4 cup butter, melted

1/4 cup dry white wine (chardonnay or pinot grigio)

2 tablespoons lemon juice

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

Parmesan cheese, freshly grated

Instructions:

Peel and de-vein shrimp unless you purchased P %26amp; D shrimp. You may choose to butterfly the shrimp as well (see note below)

Saut茅 green onions, parsley, and garlic in butter until onions are tender

Reset heat to low and add shrimp. The shrimp should be added in a single layer on the pan (cook two batches if necessary or use two pans).

Continue cooking, stirring frequently for 4 to 5 minutes

Remove shrimp with a slotted spoon to a serving dish and keep warm

Add remaining ingredients to butter mixture and simmer for 2 minutes

Pour butter mixture over shrimp

Serve this shrimp recipe over linguine or Angle Hair pasta. If you wish to do likewise, cook about 1 pound of the pasta of your choice. Add freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top.

These shrimp are also excellent when served over rice.

Homemade garlic bread:

1 cube real butter

3-4 cloves garlic, minced

Saute together about 5 minutes.

Spread on fresh sliced french bread with a pastry brush. Heat under the broiler until light brown. Yummy!!

Caesar Coleslaw

1 pkg pre-made coleslaw

1/4-1/2 cup shredded parmesean cheese

1/2 pkg caesar croutons

1 bottle creamy caesar dressing

Toss first three ingredients together. Add enough dressing to coat. It's even good the next day!

Or forget the pasta recipe and use your fingers. This one is a romantic favorite of mine and my husband's:

Beer Boil

2 pounds of large shrimp (don't shell them)

2-3 cans beer (any kind)

water

1 pound kielbasa sausage

crab (king crab is best)

shrimp and crab boil (in any supermarket)

Slice the kielbasa into serving pieces. Wash the shrimp in cold water.

In a large pot, bring to a boil the beer, shrimp boil, and enough water to cover shrimp, etc.

Add crab and sausage. Cook 5 minutes. Add shrimp and cook until shrimp turns pink. Dump into a big pot. Use your fingers!!! Serve with melted butter, Gold Dipt cocktail sauce, and spicy mustard. Add frozen corn with the shrimp, if you like corn.

Mostly, if you stare into each other's eyes...it will be a special dinner. Have fun!

Winter Green Salad with Green Apple Vinaigrette Recipe courtesy Bobby Flay

1 small head escarole, torn into bite-sized pieces

1 Belgian endive, leaves separated

1 celery stalk, cut on the diagonal into thin slices

1 small Granny Smith apple, halved cored and thinly sliced

1 tablespoon cider vinegar

1 tablespoon white wine vinegar

1 tablespoon finely diced shallot

1/4 cup olive oil

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano, for garnish

Combine greens, celery, and apples in a large bowl. Whisk together both vinegars and the shallot. Slowly whisk in the oil, and season with salt and pepper. Toss the salad ingredients with some of the vinaigrette. Garnish with shaved Parmigiano.1 1/2 pounds bone-in T-bone steak

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

1 tablespoon canola oil

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. A half-hour before cooking, remove steak from refrigerator.

Heat a large skillet over high heat. Pat steak dry and season generously with salt and pepper. Add oil to hot skillet and when it begins to smoke add steak. Reduce heat slightly and cook steak until browned, about 4 minutes on each side. Transfer skillet to the oven. Roast until an instant-read thermometer inserted sideways into the steak registers 120 degrees F for medium-rare, about 6 to 8 minutes. Transfer steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 10 minutes. Cut steak from the bone and carve meat across the grain.

FONDUE

1 1/4 cups half-and-half

1 teaspoon almond extract

24 ounces semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup amaretto

For Dipping:

Strawberries, desired amount

Bananas, desired amount

Pound cake, desired amount

Butter cookies, desired amount

Apples, desired amount

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine half-and-half and almond extract. Heat until bubbles begin to form at edge of cream. Do not boil. Reduce heat to low and stir in chocolate chips, stirring constantly. Once all of the chocolate is melted and incorporated, slowly stir in amaretto until combined.

Pour chocolate mixture into fondue pot and serve with goodies for dipping.

Cook's Note: You can use this recipe with a heated chocolate fountain.
Oysters is a great suggestion - they are supposedly an aphrodisiac. They are great raw or do smoked ones with crackers. If you don't like oysters, do some shrimp cocktail, or crab stuffed portabella mushrooms. Also asparagus is purportedly an aphrodisiac, so some steamed or roasted spears, alongside a small rack of lamb or some filet mignons would be wonderful! Be sure to get a bottle of wine or champagne, too! And don't forget the candles!
