Does anyone know if I can rent a chocolate fountain in Morocco?

I've heard there is not any good chocolate in Morocco and I would love to take some with me and have a choc. fountain with various fruits for my wedding celebration. If fountains aren't available, what about fondue sets? Also I will be travelling to Morocco in October, do I need to worry about the choc. melting during my long flight (about 19 hours)?Does anyone know if I can rent a chocolate fountain in Morocco?
I had to give this some thought and I think I have an answer for you. I have just gotten back from Morocco... travelled all over the country but spent most of my time outside of Rabat.

There are stores that cater and rent equipment for marriages. The Moroccan marriage ceremony is long and elaborate going well into the night (know this first-hand by being kept up two different nights because of weddings). I would check there to see what they have and then you would not have to worry about renting here and shipping it to there.

If that is indeed what you want to do then I would not worry about the chocolate melting. We shipped a lot of goodies home and there was no problem.

As for Morocco not having any good chocolate... that is a yes and a no.

Morocco itself is not known for their chocolate, but they are so close to Europe that chocolate from Belgium is found in good frequency. For whatever reason the Moroccan chocolate just does not stand up to even the tastes of Americans... don't even spend your money on the chocolate bars they sell at the small shops (red and white wrapper), it is really bad.

Finally, if all is lost you can buy a fountain that is relatively inexpensive at local stores here. Your major problem is going to be shipping it over to Morocco, but it is another choice for you that should not set you back more than $100US.

Good luck and have fun.
Call the best hotel.

They probably have one to rent.Does anyone know if I can rent a chocolate fountain in Morocco?
You should take one and then sell it to some wedding planner there!!! That way you don't have to lug it back!!!!
Take a fountain with you as well as a fondue set if you really need them. Why don't you go with the Moroccan traditional food? They have lovely dishes and sweets as well.Does anyone know if I can rent a chocolate fountain in Morocco?
I am not sure if you can rent one as they aren't normally used for weddings or parties here. I did see one for sale in a flyer recently. The only reason I remember seeing it was because I was surprised to see it.

There is very nice chocolate here imported from Belgium and other places.

A fondue set you will for sure not have a problem finding, I saw one just yesterday in a Kaoba flyer.

Yes worry about the chocolate melting. Just buy it here.

Are you going to invite all us Moroccophiles from the Morocco section to your wedding? haha
GREAT idea, most Moroccans love sweets and I think the chocolate fountain hasn't really made it yet. In fact, I haven't heard much about them from anyone outside the U.S. Anyhow, I'm sure you could get a cheap fondue set here (I've seen them, of all places, at the Chinese shop in my town), but you may be better off bringing your own. And don't worry about chocolate melting - especially if you pack it in your suitcase (wrapped in plastic of course) where it will stay chilly.
mmmmmmmm chocolate

ur lucky you get to include non moroccan things in your wedding. my dh is from a village --we didn't get married there but were thinking of it--- anyway, he said ppl wouldn't accept foreign things...I told him, "You are marrying a foreigner" --my inlaws even took over the music at our little party here and only played Berber stuff...I was too happy too complain %26amp; my dh is too polite but I didn't forget. :P Can you forgive w/o forgetting? I always feel that I forgive ppl but I rarely forget things.......lol....yeah, that's a question for another section.

.... My SIL even referred to me as being Moroccan now- %26amp; she wasn't joking-it really irked me. I am the child of immigrants--I have my own heritage.

Yeah, I think you can find fodue there and if you wrap the chocolate and put it in the center of your luggage it should be fine....unpack it once you are near a fridge! :)

I might get remarried while in Morocco... :D

EDIT: :'( I will feel so left out cuz I won't be there! I wanna see pics!! Will u still be there in Dec.?
If you REALLY like chocolate, in Singapore, they have a chocolate buffet. Everything has chocolate in it, including the breakfast! YUM!
don't bring chocolate from the us , you can buy fine chocolate in Morocco, especially in Rabat, Marrakesh, Casablanca.

Not sure about the chocoate foutain, but you may find one in one of these chocolate stores, and you will certainly be able to buy a fondue set, but again, make sure to shop in the big cities.
