Is there a special chocolate to use for chocolate covered strawberries?

I know people use a fondue to melt the chocolate, but was wondering if you can make it without using that and if there is a special chocolate to use? Thanks!Is there a special chocolate to use for chocolate covered strawberries?
You will need to use a chocolate with a high cocoa content this gives better consistency when melted to cover the strawberries :)
I recommend using semisweet chocolate for chocolate dipped strawberries, it's just a good balance. Also, there are two ways to melt chocolate besides using a fondue maker. You can either;

Put the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and melt the chocolate in the microwave or;

Pour a small amount of water into a saucepan, then place the chocolate into a bowl, make sure the bowl is small enough to fit onto the saucepan, but not too small that it would fall in. Place the saucepan of water onto the stove, turn it on low heat, then place the bowl on top of the pan, make sure the water doesn't touch the bowl. Add a couple of splashes of cream or milk to the chocolate, and slowly stir the chocolate until just melted.

Both methods work very well.Is there a special chocolate to use for chocolate covered strawberries?
Semi-Sweet chocolate chips taste the best (any brand- I use TOLL-HOUSE). If your chocolate is too sweet- it doesn't taste as good because you want the sweetness from the strawberries. The new dipping chocolate tastes gross- low quality of chocolate. YUK!

I melt the chocolate in the microwave using a coffee cup or something narrow like a 1 cup glass measuring cup (is messy- so don't think you are doing it wrong). Leave the green tips on strawberries (so ya have something to hold on to) and after dipping, lay them on wax paper to dry.

Don't forget to wash and DRY the strawberries first- I dry them with a paper towel. If you put them in the fridge they will get wet, so I only refrigerate the leftovers- if there are any. You can still eat them, but they aren't pretty anymore.

Enjoy!
Well, not really, but the best chocolate to use for it is 'Nestl'e chocolate melts, because they are so easy to melt in a saucepan, and you dip the strawberries in, and the chocolate dries in a matter of minutes. Normal chocolate can be used too, but it won't set as quickly and won't look as neat and the chocolate will drip off, so I suggest using nestle chocolate melts, good luckIs there a special chocolate to use for chocolate covered strawberries?
