Trying to do a treat of dipped strawberries and wanted to melt chocolate over little mini fondue, what sort of choc is best (and reasonably priced!)What sort of chocolate do I need to melt to dip strawberries?
If you like in england asda and Morrison's and probably sainsbury's and Tesco do their own brand do value chocolate in dark, milk and white and they are perfectly good. I use them when i'm doing fondue or chocolate fountains, their cheap and they taste good, especially the asda one.
Also because their cheap you could do a selection of dipped strawberries in the different types of chocolate and that would look really good if you display them on a plate, that way they have a choice of which chocolate they want. You can even do little designs on them or coat them in sprinkles, chocolate dust or coconut. Trust me no one will know that its value chocolate, and what does it matter any ? as long as it tastes good. For the fondue you could buy some kebab sticks and make them into kebabs with marsh mellows, other pieces of fruit, squares of fudge, pieces of mini doughnut and even bits of biscuits.
Tip- don't use cadbury's it really doesn't melt very well, and burns easily.
I found some in the baking aisle, kind of near the chocolate chips and stuff, it's in a plastic can and it's actually called like dipping chocolate or something, with a picture of strawberries dipped in chocolate on the can. You just put the plastic can in the microwave and melt the chocolate wafers in it down, and it's a perfect consistency. What sort of chocolate do I need to melt to dip strawberries?
have u tried chocolate from aldi
avoid cooking chocolate as not everyone loves the taste
tesco usually have offers on cadburys chocolate, not to mention they have easter eggs at the moment so... u cld use one loads of chocolate in that or even use white chocolate tesco have a white chocolate bar for around 1.30 in a blue wrapper tastes just like milkybar
Absolutely any good quality chocolate, plain, milk or white, doesn't matter. Just be careful melting it as if you overheat it will dry up and be horrible. What sort of chocolate do I need to melt to dip strawberries?
You can use chocolate chips,Thats the cheapest option I can think of.
I think you should use chocolate melting wafers.
I'd go for a decent quality chocolate, maybe Green%26amp;Blacks. Something without a high vegetable fat content so that it melts nicely and not all slimy!
semi-sweet chocolate chips. if ur a real sugar tooth, milk chocolate.
cooking chocolate available in baking section in tesco
dark chocolate containing at least 70% cocoa
