Ideas for a fondue party?

Having a party of 10 coming over for a fondue party on Saturday. It's gonna be a chocolate fondue party. What's some good foods to dip on that's moderately healthy, it doesn't have to be super healthy just moderately. What's foods I can have other than for fondue, but I want the food to compliment the fondue. It's gonna be a longish party. About 3-4 hours long. So also how do you properly do a chocolate fondue party?

Summary:

-how do you properly host a chocolate fondue party?

-what's good sides for dipping in the chocolate fondue?

-what's good food that's not dipped in the fondue, but will compliment the chocolate?

The chocolate is gonna be normal sweet chocolateIdeas for a fondue party?
For dipping: pretzel rods, strawberries, large marshmallows, angel food cake, Nutter Butter cookies, and maraschino cherries (take out of the liquid and drain well first).
To complement: I'd say just go with appetizer type foods: finger sandwiches (maybe some w/chicken salad and some w/deli turkey), veggies and dip, Lil' Smokies in bbq sauce, cubes of cheeses: cheddar, pepperjack, and monterey are good, bacon-wrapped water chestnuts, etc.
Make sure each guest has a small plate so the fondue dip doesn't get too messy.
I like frozen or non-frozen pieces of banana dipped in chocolate the best and it's healthy.
I think finger foods like cucumber sandwiches would taste good alongside chocolate. Even better if the cucumbers in the sandwiches were dressed with a kind of sweet and sour dressing, like the dressing used with chopped cucumbers in thai food restaurants. Use toasted bread for this kind of sandwich.Ideas for a fondue party?
Chocolate should obviously be sweet like you said, but I'd mix some dark in, if you're using milk chocolate.

For proper hosting, make sure everyone has their own fondue fork, and then also a small spoon.

I'd provide a mixture of dipping sides. Some people like salty with chocolate, so ritz crackers, potato chips, pretzel rods. Other people like sweet on top of sweet, so vanilla wafers, pound cake, etc. Fruit is obviously a good choice. Strawberries work, orange segmants, dried cherries. Once, I saw grapefruit segments go over like gang-busters.
I had a chocolate fountain at my baby shower. We had all sorts of fruit marshmallows and graham crackers. For the other food we just had finger sandwiches. Is your party going to inside ? If not make sure its not windy because the chocolate will be on everything .Ideas for a fondue party?

  1. Fondue party ideas are quite interesting. My brother is planning an opening party of his office at one of the beautiful LA venue in a couple of weeks. Hired best caterers and sweet providers. Hope all his clients and guests have a good time.
