Dominus's answer about the different melting temps and compositions of chocolate and cheese makes a lot of sense, and I can imagine how messy cleaning up sticky cheese could be. But before dismissing the idea of cheese altogether, you might want to stop by a Walmart and read the manual for the specific fountain you want. Or, if you aren't near a Walmart, you could contact the manufacturer and ask a customer service rep there.
Hmm, u mean melting cheese? or.. anyway, it sounds delicious. give it a try. it never hurt to try! =)Can you put cheese in a chocolate fondue fountain?
Cheese should be fine if you melt it a little before hand. Chocolate hardens just as fast as chocolate. You should be fine.
Why couldn't you use Bree(sp?) cheese? That is the kind of cheese they use for dipping like you are talking about. It is very soft and when melted very much like the melted chocolate. But still not sure it would work.

That's disgusting.
I didn't know that people as dumb as quincy were still walking around. It has hurt people to try tons of times.

If you found one, why do you want to buy one? You can use it for cheese, but that's all, don't try to switch back to chocolate.
I would not. Cheese has a different viscosity than chocolate. The fountain was designed for chocolate and the cheese may ruin the internal parts or at the very least%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;won't easily flow out of the fountain.
yes i have a cheese fountain myself
Hiya I have one of these and no you can't. When you melt the chocolate you have to add oil so that it's not too thick. Metled cheese would be far too thick. However a packet cheese sauce would be ok.
Yes!!!! Get rid of the guy and get intouch with me.
considering that youre buying it from walmart, water could clog it.
Spose, as long as you take the choc out 1st.
No, you can't. Chocolate in it's solid state is a crystaline form of sugar and cocoa butter (the brown part, called "chocolate liquor", is a natural liquid state.)

Cheese is a high-fat content food as well, but it is made of dairy fat and curds.

Cheese has a much higher "melting" point than chocolate and if that doesn't mess up the machine then the curds probably will. It might work, depending on how hot the machine runs and how good the pump is, but it's more likely it will break or there will be a nasty problem.
