How do you make it? Are you supposed to use corn syrup?
Oh, and is there a difference between a fondue set and a fondue maker?
I've looked it up on and have read questions on the topic, but the things I have read are inconsistent.

A fondue set would come with all the forks too, and, I suppose, the fondue maker is just the fondue maker....
You can find many recipes without corn syrup. In fact, you can even melt a container of storebought chocolate frosting, with a little milk, and use that!
CHOCOLATE FONDUE
1 TB. butter
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
1 (7 oz) jar marshmellow creme (fluff)
1/2 c. coffee liqueur
Melt butter %26amp; chocolate over low heat. Stir in marshmellow cream. When blended, stir in coffee liqueur. Serve with fruit, cookies, etc. to dip

6 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate squares
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup light cream
1/2 cup butter
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons cream de cacao or coffee-flavored liqueur
Angel cake cut into bite-size chunks
marshmallows
Fruits (such as bananas, strawberries, maraschino cherries, or pineapple)
Place chocolate in slow-cooking pot. Cover and heat on high for about 30 minutes or until chocolate melts. Stir in sugar, cream, butter, and salt. Cook on high, stirring constantly, for about 10 minutes or until blended. Add creme de cacao. Turn control to low. Spear angel cake chunks, marshmallows or fruits with fondue fork. Dip into chocolate mixture. Keep chocolate hot in slow-cooking pot.HELP? Confused about chocolate fondue?
You can but you don't have to. Here is a recipe for fondue without corn syrup.
CLASSIC CHOCOLATE FONDUE:
1 cup whipping cream
8 ounces premium chocolate, chopped
2 teaspoons orange liqueur (recommended: Grand Marnier)
Various sliced fruits and/or dessert treats, for dipping
Over low flame, heat cream until warm, but do not bring to a boil. Pour in chocolate while stirring continuously. Mixture will become smooth. Stir in liqueur and transfer to a fondue pot. Dip with various fruits or dessert treats.
