I'm doing a meal for my friends birthday on Sunday, and would love to use a chocolate fondue for desert. Any one know how many big bars of chocolate i would need?
And would the cheap choclate be okay to use?How many bars of chocolate do you need in a chocolate fountain?
cheap chocolate might taste bitter or greasy - Palmer's is the worst brand i've used. give a single bar a test run before you commit to a brand. how many you'll need will depend on the size of your pot, but a dozen is a fair guess. i've also used chocolate "bark" in a fondue - you'll find it in the baking aisle, it's most often used on coated pretzels and stuff like that. again if you go with the "bark" test a smaller piece before you commit to a whole pot. you can also go to the bridal section of say Wal-Mart (usually with the crafts) and get candy melts - the have different flavors and colors (made by Wilton). hope this helps. How many bars of chocolate do you need in a chocolate fountain?
You should use ALL forms of chocolate:

people don't usually use the chocolate bars. its cheaper to use the large chunks of cheaper chocolate. we have a store here that sells that kind of stuff. check in your area and see if you can buy bulk unlabelled chocolate. hope the party goes well.
