Question about chocolate fondue or fondue in general....?

I would like to buy a fondue set. I would like to melt chocolate for dipping, and whatever else you might do with a fondue. Is it enough to have just a little tealight? Is it better to get the type that holds the sterno? Is it easier to just bypass all that and get an electric one? What do you think?

Honestly, mainly I want it to occasionaly heat up some chocolate and dip fruit into them at night.

Thanks in advance.Question about chocolate fondue or fondue in general....?
I bought an electric fondue pot for my brother. He loved it. A few people I know who are really into fondue would rather have the electric pot as it maintains its temperature better. You can also use the pot for other purposes. Getting an electric pot would help you to grow into different types of fondue.Question about chocolate fondue or fondue in general....?
to save some money,

you could just make a double brolier.

you can have a boiling pot of water and a glass bowl on top.

add you melting chocolate and melt.

once done, remove bowl from heat [[and turn off the heat]] dip in desired item and enjoy!.

to reheat the harded chocolate begin again with the double brolier process.Question about chocolate fondue or fondue in general....?
I'd go with the electric, its easier to regulate the heat with.

Cheese is also very good as fondue. Try it with fruit, and bread.

YUMMY!!!!
The BEST chocolate fondue:

Half pint heavy cream

4 oz. semisweet chocolate

4 oz. milk chocolate

Use high quality chocolate such as Lindt, Perugina, etc. Break the chocolate up into little pieces in a glass or plastic bowl. Boil the cream and pour it over the chocolate. Allow to melt for a few minutes and whisk - you'll have silky smooth fondue. Just dip right into the bowl. If it gets cool, just pop into the microwave for 10-15 seconds and stir.
