I thought that I heard on a cooking show that desert wines go best with desert, because they are so sweet. A dry wine won't taste very good with the sweet.
Then again, every time I try a wine, the food that is served with the wine will make the wine taste differently, so anything might do.
Maybe go to your local winery, and ask what they have.
Good luckWhat are some wine that can go well with chocolate fondue?

Try to go with a sweeter wine for bitter chocolate, drier wine for milkier chocolate. My wife and I enjoy a small glass of sweet Tawny Port with a small piece of very dark, bitter chocolate. As the chocolate gets sweeter, you want to oppose that taste with a more bitter (dry) red wine.
a nice merlot, fruity dark and really good with chocolate!
