I want to do a chocolate fondue and have a fruit platter to go along with it. What fruits work the best with a fondue and will not turn colors after sitting out for about one to two hours (for a work potluck)? What is the best kind of chocolate (but inexpensive) to use for a fondue?
In all honesty, you can use semi-sweet chocolate chips for this and just melt them down. When we did this, we used the Ghiradelli chocolate chips and it tasted great. What is the best kind of chocolate (but inexpensive) to use for a fondue?
You really can't skimp on the chocolate, it's what makes it! I would use melon, strawberries, grapes. I would also put vanilla cookies or shortbread with it too. If you use things like apples or banana (which is yummy) cut what you'll need at first and just cut fresh as needed. (Since they tend to turn quickly)
Good luck :)What is the best kind of chocolate (but inexpensive) to use for a fondue?
Get good quality chocolate chips from your baking section of the grocery. It will go over just fine!
