Chocolate sauce similar to fondue?

Ok so i'm taking this girl on a picnic tomorrow and I'm bringing strawberries that we could dip in chocolate, preferably. There's a lot of recipes for chocolate SAUCE on the internet, but I was wondering if they would taste the same as fondue? I don't want it to taste like chocolate milk syrup or anything. I can't make an actual fondue cause i don't have a little pot to bring with me, and if i make it before hand it'll probably harden before we get to make them. So is chocolate sauce the same as chocolate fondue? Also is there something like this that i can buy from a grocery store? Thanks!Chocolate sauce similar to fondue?
