I am supposed to fondue tonight and I was wondering what kind of chocolate to use? What brand? We will be using strawberries and cheesecake bites for the food part. And does any one have any other suggestions/good recipes for dipping the main courses in (chicken/shrimp/etc..)? FONDUE?? Chocolate? Recipes?
CHOCOLATE DESSERT FONDUE
1/2 tsp. butter
8 chocolate candy bars with almonds (1 oz.) size, broken
1 1/2 c. miniature marshmallows
3 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. whipping cream
Use 1 quart fondue pot or 1 quart crockette. Rub butter around pan.
Place candy and marshmallows in pot. Cover and cook, stirring until melted and smooth on low temperature. Gradually add whipping cream. Cover and keep warm for serving up to 6 hours. Serve with bite-size pound cake, bananas, marshmallows, fresh strawberries, grapes, mandarin oranges and pretzels.
Banana and grapes is what i have, i love fondue probably my favorite desert. The choice of chocolate is up to you i personally like Cadburys but it depends if you like dark/milk/white chocolate.FONDUE?? Chocolate? Recipes?
I would say the best type of chocolate to buy at the store would be the Giradelle. When you are melting the chocolate add a little bit of veg oil to it. it will give it a nice texture. As far as what you should do for dinner I have no answers for you. Have a good time!
Here's a link with tons of chocolate fondue recipes

Hi,
You can use pretty much any type of chocolate, but keep in mind that high quality chocolate will make a better tasting fondue. If you like Toblerone chocolate, you should like this recipe:
250 ml (1 cup) Cream, 35%
340 g (12 oz) Toblerone bars, broken into triangles
125 ml (1/2 cup) Kahlua
Assortment of dippers
1. Pour the cream in a saucepan and heat over medium heat until it is almost boiling.
2. Add the Toblerone chunks.
3. Stir until the chocolate is all melted
4. Transfer to you warm fondue pot.
5. Add Kahlua and stir well.
If you want to have fondue as a main meal as well, you can have broth-based fondue or hot-oil fondue. You could even have a cheese-based seafood fondue. Delicious!
