My fondue kit says I need to add heavy whipping cream to my chocolate...........?

but I don't have any! Can I use Redi-whip instead or would it ruin the chocolate? My sister says the heavy whipping cream makes the chocolate stay better on the fruit? My fondue kit says I need to add heavy whipping cream to my chocolate...........?
Do not use Redi Whip. If you need to substitute use either butter, (not margarine) or vegetable oil. The cream or other fats are used to not make the chocolate so solidified and are easier to bite into.
NO REDDI-WHIP

WHIPPING CREAMMy fondue kit says I need to add heavy whipping cream to my chocolate...........?
yeah adding cream makes it so the chocolate doesnt solidify on the food. I dont know what redi-whip is, but the same effect can be had by adding butter to the chocolate.
Go buy the heavy cream. Or skip the fondue, all you will have is a mess. Your sister is right. My fondue kit says I need to add heavy whipping cream to my chocolate...........?
go buy some liquid whipping cream.. the already whipped kind won't work. The cream also keeps the chocolate from scorching in the fondue pot.
No you can't but you can use canned milk!
No!! Only the real whipping cream has enough fat content not to ruin or 'seize' the chocolate - if you add anything else you will end up with a big lump of chocolate.
you can add milk if you dont wanna go out.

but less amount than cream.
The others have said this, but yes, butter and milk would be a good alternative. Just do not use redi-whip as it does not work!!! And if you use milk, try and heat it up first, otherwise it can start to separate. A bit of both would work well so you don't get the 'oil' from the butter or the separation from the milk. If you want you could make it runnier - but not as creamy - with some alcohol like rum, port or brandy, etc.
