Which chocolate is best? Best melting method? Anyone got a recipie?Fondue chocolate?????
You can use different chocolates. But to make a really good fondue, try and get good quality chocolate.
Here are a couple of recipes you can try to make smooth fondues:
Chocolate Fondue
1 pound dark chocolate
1 pound milk chocolate
1 pound white chocolate
3/4 cup heavy cream
6 ounces Grand Marnier
Chop each of the chocolate into small pieces, separately. Place each type of chocolate in its own fondue pot. Turn the pot setting to medium or 5. In a saucepan, heat the cream and Grand Marnier. When the cream comes to a simmer, remove from the heat and pour 1/3 over each type of chocolate. Whisk each pot until smooth. Serve the fondue with the garnishes.

Mexican-Style Chocolate Fondue
1 cup heavy cream (see Note)
4 cinnamon sticks
8 ounces finely chopped semisweet chocolate
Dippers:
Cubed pound cake
Mini-bananas
Fresh or dried orange slices
Fresh or dried pears
Almond cookies
Coconut strips
Strawberries
In small saucepan over medium heat, bring the cream and cinnamon sticks just to boil. Remove from the heat and set aside to steep for 15 minutes. Remove the cinnamon and discard.
Put the chocolate in a medium bowl. Bring the cream to a simmer, pour it over the chocolate, and let stand for 5 minutes. Stir the chocolate mixture until completely melted and smooth. Transfer the chocolate mixture to a fondue pot, and keep warm over a low sterno flame or in a large ramekin wrapped with a cloth napkin to keep it warm. Serve with a selection of the dippers.
Note: This makes a thick fondue, for a thinner sauce, simply add more cream.Fondue chocolate?????
Use baking chocolate. Melt in a pot on low heat. You don't want to burn the chocolate. Baking Chocolate is not extremely sweet, but it will harden.
Or You could use chocolate chips and get a sweeter result but they won't harden.
For Both you can use either a milk or white chocolate.Fondue chocolate?????
