I want to get this chocolate fountain (I used this specific name, its at walmart for 20 bucks) but does chocolate fondue fountain just mean chocolate fountain?? also, i know you have to melt the chocolate chips, and add vegetable oil, does it still taste good with the vegetable oil?? finally, when you melt the chocolate chips in microwave, does it have to be thin?? because wen i melt it, its liquid, and not really lumpy, but its thick, and i have to spoon it out, so is that alright?? with this chocolate fountain make it thinner?? i know this is a lot, and i would appreciate if u guys could answer all of them. thnx sooo much. plz people who have this product respond!! thnx again!!Nostalgia Electrics 2-Tier Chocolate Fondue Fountain question??!!! plz answer?
I don't have this exact one, but I do have something similar. The chocolate tastes the same if add just a little vegetable oil. It keeps it from hardening up. the bottom should stay warm to keep the chocolate from hardening up as well. At least mine does, but that site doesn't say it does.
if your chocolate is still lumpy, then you need microwave it longer (or you can use a double boiler on the stove top.) you don't want to melt it completely in the microwave, as it will be too hot, but if it still has solid chunks that don't go away with stirring, you need to give it some more time. It won't be super thin, but it will be a complete liquid. Don't ever add water, cuz that will freeze the chocolate right up on you. the fountain will not make it thinner.
You don't have to only put chocolate in there. you could always try a liquid like punch, but the consitency may not be right for the auger inside. I'd just try it and see.
