Chocolate for Fondue???

Is there such thing as Fondue Chocolate that is ready that i can buy? The thing is I want to dip fruit in chocolate and sip Champagne as a sweet treat for my fiance. The problem is that we will be in a jacuzzi suite, and there will be no stove or microwave for me to melt chocolate or anything like that. I do have this Fondue bowl and base though...........

Is there some kind of chocolate that they sell for just this?Chocolate for Fondue???
Shy away from the syrup. It doesn't harden like fondue chocolate.

Most Supermarkets will sell "Fondue Chocolate."

I've seen them sold in with the produce section of my local market. Check there first. It comes in a little white plastic container (or tub) and should say right on top, "Fondue Chocolate."

Again, stay away from the syrups, they're completely lousy for fondue sets.
Try Hershey's chocolate ice-cream topping. It works! I remember that there are two kinds of them. Select the one that can turn to be solid after you pour it out. (Sorry I don't remember the name, it's "crack" or something like that.Chocolate for Fondue???
I believe I have seen chocolate like this in a market, but other then that the hershey's syrup may be your best bet. good Luck, oh or you can buy the pre dipped choclate covered strawberries!
you could just use hershey's choco syrupChocolate for Fondue???
Sounds like you have a fun night planned. Alright, what you want is called confectionery chocolate, any cake shop or bulk candy store will have it. Many grocery stores or superstores (Ala Wal-Mart) may have it, but not always. It will come in either a large block or a bag of small disks. Now, about your fondue bowl that you have: It will work, but the candle will probably heat the chocolate a little too much. If you plan on leaving the chocolate in the bowl for a long time (more then 15-20 minutes) you will also want a few tablespoons of vegetable shortening. After a while the chocolate will start to dry out and become clumpy and unappetizing. Mixing in a small amount of shortening will make it smooth and sexy again. Have fun and be safe!
For the love of chocolate........please DO NOT use syrup, especially Hershey's...Bad, Bad, BAd.....

They sell pouches of Chocolate fondue at your local supermarket.

Good luck
