How do you prevent chocolate fondue from burning?

Cook it in a double boiler. No fancy equipment needed - home-made rig is a pot with about an inch of water with a glass bowl fitted into the opening of the pot. Make sure the water doesn't touch the glass bowl. Put the fondue in the glass bowl and boil the water, stirring the fondue constantly. It will melt perfectly, and won't burn. We do homemade fondue with a bag of chocolate chips (milk choc., semisweet, dark, whatever you like) and a couple tablespoons of heavy whipping cream. Dip strawberries, bananas, pound cake, brownies...pretty much anything is good covered in chocolate! How do you prevent chocolate fondue from burning?
Make sure the heat source is not too high or too close. I like to melt the chocolate in a make-shift double-boiler, that is, put the chocolate in a metal or glass bowl over top of a pot of boiling water. I pour it into the fondue serving bowl only after it is at the right temp, and keep adding to it as needed. How do you prevent chocolate fondue from burning?
